#japan10 Ramadhan in Japan (part 2)

so here goes the story. favorite question to be asked to those who fast in other`s country. "hows ramadan at there?". and here goes my answer. it  feels the same except for not having any bazaar to be visited, and not having a bunch of foods for the meal. no more kuih-muih, no more murtabak pekan, and no more my-all-time-favorite nasi minyak cenderawasih. (oh, now i realised how much i miss nasi minyak in here..)

bazaar - in memory
as ramadan falls in summer this year, my daily routine changed drastically starting august, the first ramadan. luckily my summer holiday had started before ramadan, so this changes did not effect so much. starting ramadan, i would stay up late waiting for sahur time and subuh prayer. subuh time is about 3.30am. so, im having my good night sleep at 4, which actually looks like 6.45am in malaysia. thanks to my new dark brown curtain, i can have a long sleep without affected by the sunlight. dont ask at what time i would wake up. its not a little something to be bragged about. hehe

eventhough the fasting time is longer than malaysia, but i did not really feel it because the maghrib time is now about 6.30 pm which is 5.30 pm in malaysia. feeling like wanna own a private helicopter to fly here everyday to bukak puase earlier everyday? (like what nemba said earlier) so now you know why i say fasting here feels the same like back in malaysia. except for my sleep time.

then, there`s one more question that people usually ask.

"bukak ape dekat sane?"

my answer,

"bukak same macam orang malaysia makan malam"

but sometimes, we make it more special by making something like open house which doesn`t really open actually. (belom raye lg pon dah buat open house) its more exciting to eat with your friends rather than eating alone, kan? and you`ll be more excited to cook thinking that a bunch of people are going to eat yours. luckily this ramadan i had not once had to have the meal all alone by myself. thanks to my friends, and expecially him :)  and thanks to those who invited me to bukak puasa together at their house. its really appreciated. and do invite me again next time :D

p/s : please forgive me for not going back to celebrate raya at malaysia. i just want to feel how it is to celebrate raya in other place. just two years here, then i`ll be home, again. InsyaAllah...
